Synopsis:
The Yanomami shaman Davi Kopenawa, one of Brazil’s leading Indigenous voices, travels from the Amazon to mining regions in the southeast of Brazil. Moving between the physical and spiritual realms, he encounters the maxita watimapë, the “earth eaters”, and reunites with his longtime friend, Ailton Krenak. Together, they connect two territories deeply scarred by extrativism and reveal another way of relating with the Earth.
In June 2026, this documentary feature premiered in the International Competition of the Olhar de Cinema – Curitiba International Film Festival, one of Brazil’s leading film festivals. The film is currently in distribution.
