 DORAS
PLATFORM
(artist member)

Doras Platform is a feminist art collective composed of nine female artists from different fields. Founded in 2018, we use an interdisciplinary approach to create performances, theatrical scenes, collaborative artistic events, and workshops. We also participate in audiovisual projects as performers and co-creators, such as the short film Ela Viu Aranhas, directed by Larissa Muniz, which was screened at several film festivals.

In 2018, Platform Doras created the theater play BRASA (translated as EMBER in English). This polyphonic, political, and poetic piece portrays a bonfire formed by 12 women. A total of 21 women contributed to its creation, taking on various artistic and production roles. The performance weaves together dance, chants, actions, speeches, and sonic landscapes, all guided by the imagery of fire.

BRASA is a powerful, collective, and incandescent blaze—an impassioned movement of resistance, empowerment, existence, and freedom. A diverse group of women imagines a space where true freedom is possible - in this land called Brazil. This play was awarded the Audience’s Choice for Best Performance at the 19th Festival of Galpão Cine Horto. The piece was also staged in several theaters in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
